86 on the Ground, 65 in the Sky - a New Record

Washington, D.C. — At 86 years old, Bette Nash is the oldest and longest-serving flight attendant in the world, according to Guinness World Records. She began flying in 1957 and has been serving customers for 65 years.

Each day is a new record.

Nash chooses to fly American Airlines Washington-Boston shuttle route, now commonly referred to the “Nash Dash,” because it allows her to be home at night to care for her disabled son.

There’s a lot to learn from Bette’s tenure. She’s shown the value purposeful work, as well as how employees and employers can work together to leverage experience in this new era. Above all, she demonstrates how doing what you love can help you live a great life.
